Universal solution for high-performance flute grinding

3M Hybrid Diamond Grinding Wheel 6PHU

Dimensionally stable, high-performance and versatility – these are the features of the new hybrid bond, superabrasive Diamond Grinding Wheel 6PHU. This product, which is part of the new X-series, is designed in its bonding matrix especially for flute grinding, and is universally suitable for use with rotationally symmetric drilling and milling tools made of tungsten carbide. The new X-series is available in two versions and characterized by the highest degree of dimensional stability and high cutting performance, depending on the key area of application.

With this new hybrid bond Diamond Grinding Wheel, 3M is reacting to continuously rising customer expectations for higher performance and greater efficiency. The result is a perfect construction with a solid copper base unit and improved metal hybrid and diamond grain bonding matrix.

Wide Range with many benefits

The X-series wheels are available in two versions with higher cutting capacity and increased dimensional stability for optimum adaptation to the respective key area of application. This also provides users with further benefits: low manufacturing component costs, higher plant availability due to lower wear and tear on the grinding wheel as well as perfect surface quality.

To improve efficiency with hard materials, durability, in-feed rates and a broad spectrum of applications are the decisive factors.

“Hybrid bond abrasives offer comprehensive processing opportunities and are therefore well-suited to a broad application spectrum,” stated Axel Schmidt, 3M Global Market Development Manager. “Maintaining high productivity and work piece quality for customers remain a top priority for 3M, and therefore we have broadened our portfolio in the area of super abrasive grinding wheels by introducing the X-series.”

Grinding tests for fast and smooth integration

3M offers customers product-workpiece testing at their test center facilities, conducting prequalification product checks thereby guaranteeing smooth integration while maintaining uninterrupted production.
