Cable Exhibition 2024 Newsflash: Sungrow Delivers First BESS PowerTitan 2.0 Unit in Europe
Photovoltaic inverter and energy storage system supplier Sungrow announced the first batch delivery of their advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) PowerTitan 2.0 units in Europe. A total of 66 units have arrived in the UK, Cable Exhibition 2024 understands that this is a significant milestone for Penso Power and BW ESS's Bramley 100MW/330MWh project.
The entire project was delivered in less than a year after Penso Power, BW ESS, and Sungrow signed a project agreement.
The liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 is designed to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety. The system integrates a 2.5MW Power Conversion System (PCS) and a 5MWh battery into a 20-foot container, significantly reducing capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) costs.
Each unit from Sungrow undergoes rigorous testing and quality control measures to ensure it meets the highest international standards, supporting the UK's transition to a cleaner energy future.
Energy storage company BW ESS, along with its partner Penso Power, has signed a seven-year agreement with Shell Energy Europe Limited to utilize the 100 MW / 330 MWh Bramley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipped with PowerTitan 2.0.
Cable Exhibition 2024 learned that Sungrow's global energy storage system shipments in 2023 have exceeded 10.5GWh.
