wire Expo 2024 Update: Illuminate USA Celebrates Production Milestone
American solar panel manufacturer Illuminate USA has announced that its factory in Pataskala, Ohio, has hired its 1000th Ohio employee and produced its one-millionth solar panel. wire Expo 2024 has learned that these milestones were achieved in less than six months since the production line began operating.
Jim Murphy, President of Invenergy and Chairman of the Illuminate USA Board, stated: "The federal government is striving to advance American manufacturing, the onshore solar supply chain, and job creation, and the Illuminate USA factory undoubtedly meets market demands. Looking ahead, the addition of new capacity will provide a more equitable competitive environment for the entire market."
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 clarified the manufacturing tax credits for the onshore solar supply chain, which has presented opportunities for Illuminate USA's growth. This legislation has spurred the development of clean energy across the nation and provided a stable policy environment for expanding onshore manufacturing industries connected to the solar supply chain, accelerating the adoption of clean energy in homes and businesses.
wire Expo 2024 understands that Illuminate USA's solar panels have begun generating electricity in the continental Ohio. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine commented, "Ohio workers are producing cutting-edge renewable energy products at the Pataskala factory, making Ohio a hub of innovation."
By the end of this year, Illuminate USA is expected to achieve full production capacity and further expand its workforce. At full production, Illuminate USA will produce one million panels every five weeks, equivalent to 5GW annually, providing electricity to over one million American households.
