Optical Fiber Cable Exhibition 2024 News: Upgrading Public Power Facilities
Last year, a company applied to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for a rate adjustment. Optical Fiber Cable Exhibition 2024 learned that the utility company reported that since the last rate review in 2020, it has invested over $794 million to enhance grid infrastructure reliability. This investment includes substation upgrades, increased grid capacity, routine safety inspections to promptly detect data anomalies, timely repairs, and extended equipment lifespan.
Additionally, there are smart devices capable of predicting outages and switching to backup circuits in time. These devices transfer user equipment to backup power sources before an outage occurs.
Optical Fiber Cable Exhibition 2024 learned that the company plans to invest $185 million to strengthen the energy supply network, improve customer experience, and provide appropriate discounts to low-income and elderly groups. For instance, with a monthly electricity usage of 780 kWh, the total rate would increase by approximately 7.5% if the project is approved.
The proposal also includes an annual budget increase of over $10 million to prevent natural disasters affecting the grid, such as various hurricanes, and plants that could impact transmission efficiency on important circuits.
